          - An electronic copy received directly from school official (via email with school official's name and title in email signature).
          - What is not accepted: transcripts cut and pasted into a document, electronic transcripts scanned from applicants, links to electronic transcripts.
        • The Scholarship Guidelines ask for an official copy of standardized test scores, what constitutes an official test score and how can I submit it?
          - A hard copy received at the Community Foundation directly from College Boards.
          - An electronic copy received directly from school official (via email with school official title).
        • The eGrant online application is asking for scores from both the ACT and SAT, but I only took one of those tests.
          - Enter the score you earned on the test that you took, and enter "0" in the other test scores. A score of "0" signifies that you did not take that test.
        • The Scholarship Guidelines ask for tax returns, what information is needed?
          - The first two pages of 1040 or federal filing, showing AGI (Adjusted Gross Income).
          - You may be asked to provide additional information upon review of your application.
        • Can I black out Social Security Numbers on tax returns?
          - Yes! We recommend that you black out Social Security Numbers and/or bank account numbers on all documents.
        • The Scholarship Guidelines ask for letters of recommendations, how do I submit those?
          - Sealed recommendations may be mailed directly to Community Foundation of the Lowcountry offices, with the name of the scholarship that is being applied for in the attention line on the envelope.
          - Letters of recommendation may be emailed directly from recommending party to Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, with the scholarship that is being applied for noted in the subject line.
          - Letters of recommendation must have the signature of the person writing the letter.
        • What is the deadline for this scholarship?
          - The deadline is 11:59 pm EST on the deadline date listed in the Scholarship Guidelines, unless an alternate time is reflected in the Scholarship Guidelines.
          - Your eGrant Application, emails and faxes must be received by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry by 11:59 pm EST on the deadline date.
          - Hand delivered items must be received by Close of Business on the deadline date (or last business date prior if the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday).

        • The Scholarship Guidelines ask for the EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) from the FAFSA Form. Where can I find this, and what if I didn't complete the FAFSA?
          - The EFC can be located on the Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR report showing the Estimated Family Contribution is the only page of the FAFSA needed, you do not need to submit your entire FAFSA application.
          - If you did not apply for the FAFSA or do not have results, write a statement of explanation. Save the statement and upload it into the eGrant online application.
        • Can I apply for more than one scholarship?
          - Yes, you may apply for any scholarship that you meet the requirements for.
        • I am applying for more than one scholarship. Do I need to submit the same documents each time?
          - Yes. Each application you submit requires documentation specific to that scholarship and the eligibility criteria as listed in the Scholarship Guidelines. If you are having difficulty with uploading required attachments, please contact the Community Foundation of the Lowcounty at the number listed below.
        • What is the best format to save attachments that I will be uploading into the eGrant online application?
          - The software that is used requires Microsoft compatible documents. The preferred document type is a PDF, however, Word, Excel and JPEG or other image files are all acceptable.
        • If I uploaded an attachment to the eGrant online application, do you still need hard copies?
          - No, the uploaded document is sufficient unless an official copy is required and needs to be submitted by another method.
        • How do I know that my scholarship application is complete and has been received by the Community Foundation?
          - Upon submitting your eGrant application, you will receive an automatic email confirming that your application has been received.
          - You are responsible for assuring that your completed scholarship application(s) and necessary attachments have been received by the Community Foundation prior to the deadline. We recommend submitting an application and accompanying materials in advance of the deadline to ensure receipt.
