Carolina Heritage Insurance Scholarship Carolina Heritage Insurance Scholarship

The applicant must be a graduating senior, who has been accepted and will be attending higher education accredited university. Must also be a full time resident of Beaufort County South Carolina and a senior in a public or private high or home-schooled Beaufort County South Carolina. Must demonstrate outstanding accomplishments along with involvement in community and/or extra-curricular activities.

Dominique’s Musician Corner Scholarship Dominique’s Musician Corner Scholarship  

Graduating senior from a high school in Beaufort or Jasper counties located in South Carolina or Chatham County in Georgia; and who is a resident of either South Carolina or Georgia. Must show evidence of outstanding academic and personal achievement, along with involvement in the Performing Arts. Must show evidence they have been accepted and will be attending an accredited college or university. Should be pursuing a degree program in the area of the Performing Arts and a future career in the area of the Performing Arts and/or the music industry. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 a 4.0 scale or the equivalent on an alternate scale. Should have a score equivalent to or better than the state average on tests designed to measure aptitude for college (e.g., SAT, ACT). Preference will be given to applicants who can show evidence of how they have used their musical talent skills to assist their faith community

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating student who is going into any field in the area of healthcare. 

The basis for the decision will be: financial need, scholarship, and community service. 

Amazing Grace Sulak Scholarship Amazing Grace Sulak Scholarship  

Must be a high school senior graduating from Bluffton High School located in Bluffton, South Carolina or May River High School located in Bluffton, South Carolina. Must show evidence of being accepted and attending an accredited college, university or technical school. Must show evidence of outstanding academic and personal achievement, have participated in high school athletics and been involved in extra-curricular/community activities. Must have a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.5 on a 6.0 scale or the equivalent on an alternate scale.

Graduating senior (or graduate of) Hilton Head Island public or private high school who has been accepted and will be attending (or is attending) a South Carolina accredited public college or university, or a Georgia public university located in Savannah full-time, who is a U.S. citizen and legal resident of Beaufort County, demonstrating financial need, who has shown outstanding academic achievement.  Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent on an alternate scale.  Should have a score equivalent to or better than the state average on tests designed to measure aptitude for college (e.g., SAT, ACT).  Must demonstrate outstanding academic accomplishments along with involvement in community and/or extra-curricular activities.

Graduating High School Senior studying or living on Hilton Head Island, who has been accepted into an accredited school or college, where he or she will be majoring in the visual arts.

Beaufort County Law Enforcement Educational Scholarship Fund Beaufort County Law Enforcement Educational Scholarship Fund  

Graduating Beaufort County high school senior (or graduate of a Beaufort County high school) who is a legal resident of Beaufort County, demonstrating financial need, who has shown outstanding academic achievement and who has been accepted and will be attending an accredited college or university. Applicant must have at least one parent(s) who currently or previously worked in the field of law enforcement in Beaufort County, SC. Must demonstrate outstanding academic accomplishments along with involvement in community and/or extra-curricular activities. Preference may be given to those applicants who have lost one or both parents while working in the area of law enforcement

A completed online application form and 250-word essay describing education and career choices. Two character references. Career Fields applicable: Humanities/Education/Medical. The committee's decision is based heavily on volunteerism. 

Susan and Fred Breidenbach Scholarship Susan and Fred Breidenbach Scholarship  

All high school seniors or full-time college students who are sons or daughters (natural, legal, adopted, and stepchildren or wards who are full dependents for tax and benefit purposes) of full-time, retired, or deceased Gulfstream employees who will enter an accredited institution of higher education in the United States (or an eligible institution in Mexico) no later than the start of the next academic year may apply.  The employee-parent must have completed one year of employment prior to the application deadline date.  A parent must meet the above criteria when the scholarship is awarded. 

James F. Byrnes Foundation Scholarship James F. Byrnes Foundation Scholarship

In order to be eligible for the James F. Byrnes Scholarship, a student must:

  • Have one or both parents deceased.
  • Be a South Carolina resident and a United States citizen.
  • Be a current Senior in High School.
  • Plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university as a freshman.
  • Have a satisfactory academic record and have need of financial assistance to attend college.

Resident of SC attending in-state school. GPA of 2.5 or higher. Grades, class rank and test scores considered. Major field of study in law enforcement, criminal justice or forensic science.

Graduating high school senior from a Southern Beaufort County high school or a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, who is a U.S. citizen and legal resident of Beaufort County, with financial need, and who has been accepted to or is currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program in the area of the Performing Arts.

Richard H. and Ann M. Gerken Scholarship Richard H. and Ann M. Gerken Scholarship  

Graduating Hilton Head Island high school senior who is a legal resident of Hilton Head Island, demonstrating financial need, who is taking a full-time academic program leading to a degree in nursing or medicine. Applicant must demonstrate evidence of outstanding academic achievement and commitment to nursing and/or medicine. Preference will be given to applicants who are taking courses leading to a specialization in the diseases of the mind.  Consideration may also be given to non-Hilton Head Island residents who legally commit to relocate to Hilton Head Island and commence a professional practice on Hilton Head Island upon the completion of their education.

The Gulfstream Aerospace West Michigan Aviation Academy Scholarship The Gulfstream Aerospace West Michigan Aviation Academy Scholarship  

The Gulfstream Aerospace Scholarship was established in 2014 with the purpose of providing support for a qualified high school senior from Western Michigan Aviation Academy who has been accepted and plans to pursue a post-secondary degree from an accredited higher education institution. The scholarship award selection will be based on the applicant’s financial need and academic performance. Preference may be given to applicants pursuing an Aviation related degree.

The Gulfstream Aerospace Youth Apprentice Scholarship The Gulfstream Aerospace Youth Apprentice Scholarship  

The Gulfstream Aerospace Youth Apprentice Scholarship was established to provide support for a qualified high school senior who has participated in the Gulfstream Youth Apprentice program, is scheduled to graduate in the Spring of the current academic yearand plans to pursue an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university.

All high school seniors who are sons or daughters (natural, legal, adopted, and stepchildren or wards who are full dependents for tax and benefit purposes) of full-time, retired, or deceased Gulfstream employees who will enter an accredited institution of higher education in the United States (or an eligible institution in Mexico) no later than the start of the next academic year may apply.  The employee-parent must have completed one year of employment prior to the application deadline date.  A parent must meet the above criteria when the scholarship is awarded.  Students who apply based only on scholastic merit do not need to complete the financial information sections of the application.  Students who complete the financial information, and submit the additional requested documents, also become eligible to compete for the scholarship based on financial need.  Individuals may compete for both academic merit and academic merit/financial need scholarship types, but may be awarded no more than one scholarship. 

Harry Hampton Scholarship Harry Hampton Scholarship

SC resident attending in-state school GPA 2.5 or higher Grades, rank, test scores considered Major field of study in natural resources discipline, including forestry, wildlife & fisheries, environmental studies. General biology, pre-med biology and veterinary science do not qualify. Autobiographical essay and photograph.

Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association

Eligibility will only be applied to graduating high school seniors in Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton Counties continuing their education in either a 4- or 2-year accredited college or university (trade/tech school included), and who merit the award based on a combination of solid academic work ethic, financial need, community service, and character.

 Application must include the following items:  

    - Scholarship Application (2017-2018 Application Form)
    - Certified Copy of most recent transcript(s)
    - Copy of student's
(if applicable) and parent's most recent tax returns
    - Resume
(outlining accomplishments, school involvement and community service)
 
    - Two letters of recommendation
    - Name of college or technical school/program student will be attending
(colleges applied to if unknown)
    - Typed essay (500 to 1,000 words) describing student's top achievements, how these achievements have prepared them for the future and how the Hilton Head Home Builders Education Foundation Scholarship will impact their education and future.

Hilton Head Island - Bluffton Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Hilton Head Island - Bluffton Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

 

African American female graduating seniors from Hilton Head Island High School, Bluffton High School, May River High School and Ridgeland/Hardeeville High School students from Hardeeville.  Applicants must attend a 4 year accredited college, university or post-secondary institution in pursuit of a degree within one year of high school graduation; Must have at least a 2.75 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale in order to qualify for a scholarship award.  Applicants are required to submit an Official High School Diploma transcript in a sealed envelope; Applicants are required to submit two typed sealed letters of recommendations in a sealed envelope; Applicants are required to submit a typed essay that answers the following questions:

 

  1. What are your academic and professional goals?
  2. How do you plan to achieve those goals?

 

The essay is an important part of the selection process.

 

Academic leadership and community service involvement is highly recommended.
