Community Foundation Grantmaking

The Community Foundation’s grant programs reflect our desire to be innovative, inclusive and responsive to the needs of the area. Our grants include those that are open to nonprofit application and those that originate at a donor’s request. Here is a snapshot of our grant programs:

Three important programs under this umbrella are:

  • Community Impact Grants
  • Community Investment Grants
  • Organization Development Grants

Which grant type is right for my organization?
Community Impact Grants are designed to stimulate and help launch new programs and projects; or to help focus, enhance, and/or expand an organization’s existing programs and services while Community Investment Grants are designed as an investment in a large capital project which is a critical enhancement to the mission of the nonprofit organization.

Organization Development Grants are designed to retain a consultant to help existing nonprofits strengthen themselves organizationally, increasing their capacity to govern and achieve long-term sustainability.

Grant Application Guidelines:
For these three grant types, there are guidelines and application deadlines.

Grants with Request for Proposal Process

These grant programs will select a focus area for annual grants, such as literacy or the environment, and issue a request for proposals from local nonprofits.
