An Overview to Working with Us
To build stronger communities, the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry works with a broad base of donors, professional advisors, nonprofits and volunteers throughout the Lowcountry.
We have a knowledge of the needs in the communities we serve, and can assist donors to direct their philanthropy in areas of great importance. We can do the research necessary to determine how well certain nonprofit organizations do their work—how efficient and effective and stable they may be, and whether they have measurable outcomes to show for their effort.
We strengthen area nonprofits not just with grants, but also with advice and training.
We make significant efforts to marry volunteers with nonprofits who need them, and donors with causes they care about.
We can convene groups of people with similar interests so they might work together to solve a problem or share information and resources.
The history of the Community Foundation is one of leadership and funding support for innovative, significant undertakings that helps to shape our community. From supporting youth-serving nonprofits to protecting our fragile environment, the Community Foundation and its many generous donors have made many decisions, some of them hard, all of them thoughtful, over the course of its history.
