is a Beaufort County-based women's giving circle
Mission Statement Inspiring and educating women to become philanthropic leaders in the Lowcountry.
Through the unique lens of a woman we will: - Promote the power of collective giving. - Stimulate new approaches to community needs. - Embrace fellowship. - Educate women in the philanthropic path, Lowcountry resources, and leadership training.
By choosing to become a member of Women in Philanthropy, women are supporting an organization dedicated to inspiring, educating, and encouraging women to effect change in the world through philanthropy. Like volunteerism, philanthropy is a collective endeavor. However, because it is more strategic in approach, it allows members to solve issues and needs right at the source.
At the same time, through Women in Philanthropy, women can enjoy the involvement, participation, and camaraderie of being part of a cause-driven group.
Grantmaking The grantmaking focus of Women in Philanthropy is strengthening families and individuals in the areas of arts and culture, community development, education, the environment, health, and human services. With this in mind, the advisory committee will establish the criteria for each cycle of funding for grantseeking nonprofit organizations.
