Community Foundation of the Lowcountry Hires New President and CEO

December 16, 2025
Following a comprehensive, nationwide search led by the Kittleman executive search firm, Aaron Falk has been named President and CEO of Community Foundation of the Lowcountry (CFL). Falk is scheduled to assume the role in January 2026.

Falk most recently served for four years as CEO & President of Kern Community Foundation in Bakersfield, CA. Under Falk’s leadership, the Kern Community Foundation has grown asset size and every major program, launched a youth workforce development program, and became a prominent leader on issues facing Kern County.

Falk has a political science degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, completed the U.S. Air Force’s Air Command and Staff College as a civilian, and attained an MBA from California State University, Bakersfield. After earning his degree, Falk worked for over a decade in the U.S. Congress. He started at the House Armed Services Committee, was a military legislative assistant for Rep. Martha McSally, and then worked in the district office for his hometown Congressman, Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

“My family and I are so excited to move here,” said Falk. “This is a beautiful area with rich heritage. Community Foundation of the Lowcountry will continue to build on its momentum and tradition of making the Lowcountry a better place to live, work, and visit.” Falk will be joined in the Lowcountry by his wife Lauren and young daughter, Mia.

Falk succeeds Scott Wierman, who has served as CFL President and CEO since January 2021 and retires at the end of 2025.

“We are incredibly grateful to Scott for his leadership and vision,” said CFL Board Chair Lynn Jennings Taylor. “The entire CFL team is excited to welcome Aaron to the Lowcountry. We are confident that Aaron’s analytical skills and compassion will help strengthen and expand the work of CFL.”
