Women in Philanthropy Announces 11th Annual Grant Opportunity

Women in Philanthropy, a fund of Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, has announced its 11th annual grant opportunity. This year ’s focus will be “Providing Safe Shelter for our Citizens: Crisis, Temporary and Permanent. ” The goal is to fund programs that provide safe haven in times of emergency, offer temporary refuge when needed or assist in eliminating homelessness in Beaufort County. The total pool of funds available for grants is $70,000.
Nonprofit organizations in Beaufort County that provide programs specific to the focus theme may submit grants online, through Community Foundation of the Lowcountry ’s website. Grant submissions by mail will not be accepted.
To be considered, grants must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016.
Established in 2003, Women in Philanthropy has awarded grants totaling over $165,000 to strengthen Beaufort County families and individuals in the areas of health, human services, arts and culture,
community development and education. Their mission is: Through a woman ’s unique lens, we promote the power of collective giving, engage and inspire women along their philanthropic paths, and support new approaches to address community needs.
