Overview

The Grimes Family Scholarship was established at Community Foundation of the Lowcountry in 2025 by Barbara E. and G. Marshall Grimes to provide financial support for students attending post-secondary schools who have demonstrated extraordinary determination in achieving their goals.

Limited Criteria

  • High School senior graduating from a public high school in Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton or Colleton County, who is a legal resident, demonstrating financial need, who endeavors to improve their life through academic success.
  • Preference may be given to applicants who demonstrate strong potential, motivation, and resilience, particularly those whose academic record may reflect limited access to guidance, resources, or opportunities during high school.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent on an alternate scale
  • Recipient will attend an accredited public college, university, or technical school.
