Overview

The Joseph S. Onisko, Jr. Environmental Sciences Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Onisko, in memory of Joseph S. Onisko, Jr. The purpose and focus of this scholarship fund is to provide scholarship support for qualified students pursuing a post-secondary education in the field of Environmental Sciences or a related area.

Limited Criteria

• High school seniors graduating from a public or private high school in southern Beaufort County
• U.S. citizen and legal resident of Beaufort
• Has been accepted and is attending an accredited college, university, or technical college
• Outstanding academic and personal achievements
• Will be pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree program in the area of environmental sciences or a related area, preference given to those applicants with a focus in marine sciences
• Minimum GPA of 3.2
