Overview
The Marc Chary Scholarship Program was generously established in 2025 by Mr. Marc Chary and supported by the Marc Chary Scholarship Endowment. The purpose and focus of this scholarship fund is to provide scholarship support for qualified African American students, with demonstrated financial need, who are pursuing a post-secondary education.
Limited Criteria
- Applicant must be an African American high school senior graduating from a high school in Southern Beaufort County or Jasper County.
- Applicant must be a legal resident of Southern Beaufort County or Jasper County, in South Carolina. A preference may be given to applicants who are residents of Hilton Head Island.
- Applicant must show evidence of acceptance and plans to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school with a plan to complete a 2-year, 4- year or certificate program.
- Applicant must demonstrate strong financial need.
- Applicant must show evidence of outstanding academic and personal achievements.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent on an alternate scale.
