Overview

The Lowcountry Legacy Fund is proud to offer two scholarships of $2,500 each to graduating African American seniors from Hilton Head High School for the first year of post-secondary educational pursuits. The Lowcountry Legacy Fund invests in programs that celebrate culture and heritage, build infrastructure, expand education and pursue economic equity in the Black community. The purpose of the scholarships is to assist students with a demonstrated need with funds directly impacting the cost of college tuition, books, and supplies so they may further their academic pursuits unencumbered by financial burdens. 

Limited Criteria

• Must be an African American high school senior who recently graduated from Hilton Head High School in 2024 or has previously graduated up to one-year post-graduation.
• Must demonstrate outstanding academic accomplishments.
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on the South Carolina Uniform Grading Scale or the equivalent on an alternate scale. 
• Must demonstrate financial need.
