Overview

In their parents’ honor, the children of the late Roy T. and Mattie M. Hollingsworth established this memorial scholarship to pass on their legacy of faith, service and hard work. Roy T. Hollingsworth, Sr. served in World War II and, upon entering the work force, he remained with one employer for about 43 years. Mattie M. Hollingsworth, who persevered to obtain a high school diploma after becoming an adult, graduated as Valedictorian of her class and went on to pursue higher education. She was a prayer warrior. This scholarship is to fund a motivated student who may not have the opportunity to attend college without additional financial resources.

Limited Criteria

  • High school senior graduating from Estill High School, Patrick Henry Academy or Wade Hampton High School.
  • Minimum GPA 2.25.
  • Plan to attend an 1890 Land-Grant university (Competitive Scholarship).
