Community Foundation of the Lowcountry Names Mead as Vice President for Grantmaking and Community Leadership
August 21, 2015Cassie Mead has been named vice president for grantmaking and community leadership for Community Foundation of the Lowcountry. In this position, Mead will lead the Community Foundation ’s extensive grant process, work to achieve community goals, lead efforts to connect our community ’s needs with available resources and direct special initiatives.
Mead joined the Community Foundation in the fall of 2012 as a donor services associate. In that role she supported the Community Foundation's asset development efforts, served as a donor ombudsman, processed gifts, and managed scholarship funds and donor services. Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Mead was general manager of a local anatomic pathology laboratory. She is currently pursuing a master ’s of science degree in administration and is also a Notary Public for the State of South Carolina.
Originally from Michigan, Mead holds a bachelor ’s degree in recreation, parks and leisure services from Central Michigan University. She and her husband, Brandon, relocated to the Lowcountry in 2006 and live in Bluffton.
