Starting and growing a nonprofit takes more than passion. Leaders must also understand governance, financial management, fundraising, organizational structure, program impact and long-term sustainability—often while learning as they go. SPARK helps nonprofit leaders identify what is working, recognize gaps they may not yet know to look for, and develop the knowledge and tools needed to move their organizations forward with greater confidence.

Over five interactive, in-person sessions, participants will learn alongside other nonprofit leaders, receive guidance from experienced professionals and apply what they learn directly to their own organizations. Topics will include:

  • Organizational purpose and foundational practices
  • Board governance and leadership
  • Financial management and sustainability
  • Fundraising, communications and storytelling
  • Measuring impact and planning for future growth

Each participating organization will leave the program with a practical action plan reflecting its most important next steps. Organizations that successfully complete the program will also be eligible for a $1,000 capacity-building grant and additional consultation with a resource professional.

Lowcountry SPARK helps emerging nonprofits gain their footing, strengthen their organizations and turn good intentions into sustainable community impact.
