Through the Ekedahl Center for Nonprofit Excellence, Community Foundation of the Lowcountry works with nonprofit organizations to develop customized training experiences for boards, leadership teams and staff. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all workshop, we begin by learning about your organization’s structure, goals and current challenges. We then work with an experienced consultant or facilitator to design a relevant training plan that addresses your team’s specific needs.

Customized sessions may include:

  • Board governance, roles, engagement and accountability
  • Leadership and management development
  • Role clarification, delegation and team alignment
  • Situational leadership
  • Communication and conflict management
  • Myers-Briggs or FIRO-B team dynamics
  • Strategic planning and organizational development

Training may range from a focused half-day or full-day board workshop to a more comprehensive series for an organization’s management team. Sessions are interactive and practical, giving participants an opportunity to better understand one another, clarify expectations, and apply what they learn to their work together.

This opportunity is not a grant to hire a consultant to create a plan. It is a partnership that brings meaningful, facilitated learning directly to your organization and equips your board, staff or leadership team to work more effectively. Community Foundation of the Lowcountry partners with participating organizations to help share the cost of the training. Customized organizational workshops may be partially subsidized through the Ekedahl Center, subject to availability.
